900 Global Sublime Focus Review
The 900 Global Sublime Focus packs a .056 differential symmetric core at just $114.95 — stronger than most $150+ symmetrics. Video reviews inside.
I'm focused are you focused better get focused because we have 900 Global Sublime Focus we got a brand new ball 900 Global Sublime Focus solid version of the original Sublime 804 where's the oh it's not on here well it's got the 804 blend cover stock this is my two-handed one we'll start with the two-handed one why not another strong ball coming at you it's going to be strong symmetric ball this would be if not an asymmetric ball this is the first ball out of my back we're going to compare it to the optimum idle from rotor grip and the summit Ascent from storm we got the whole family
[Music] here no the first shot's supposed to strike every time I'm only going to make this harder for myself because I'm going to Bow two-handed first and then one-handed and typically I'm going to be further left with two hands and one cuz I hook it way more but whatever it'll only make us a better bowler so layout I have on this guy 5x 4x4 starting to get in the realm of longer pins just because I figure I'm probably going to need to drill longer pins at some point as I get
better two-handed so here we go but definitely a strong piece I think it's going to rival the optimum idle solid the original one to me it feels stronger though but it is a fresh cover talk to me me the impression that ion scratch your [Music] surface oh my God they hook so much why do these new balls hook so much we need balls that hook just like we need balls that don't hook Gold Coast just isn't the best place to throw balls that hook a lot because check out the
lanes you can start a campfire with these heads they hook so much be advised if you bowl at bowling Cent that hook a lot in the front of the lane you want cleaner balls if we were bowling at the national bowling stadium in Reno these would probably look fantastic we are bowling on 43 ft not all balls are going to look great at the same time and that's good because we want variety if we're tournament Bowlers we're traveling all over the world bowling on different oils different Lane surfaces the fact that they don't look good right now is probably a good thing because a lot of bowling balls look pretty good here at Gold Coast but we don't want them all to look good at the same time so we're going to see if we can throw some
strikes together I'm going to talk about where this ball fits and hopefully I provide enough information to you to decide if you want to get [Music] one that's close she's chugging she's chugging so if you guys didn't see the ion Max video go check that out we're having a similar issue here these balls are just so strong they're using up a lot of energy in the first half of the lane so they're
losing hitting power in the back half so what do we need to do we need to find more oil in the front of the lane how do we do that hopefully by moving left if I move right my fear is the ball is going to get offline too early and I'm not going to be able to hit the pocket but if this doesn't work that's our only other option unless we switch balls that's also close I am I haven't got okay so that did shape more down Lane us finding more oil in the front of Lane
was correct man these balls are early I haven't thrown a strike yet have I I'm making my adjustment I don't need to throw it slower every time I move left I always throw it slower because that's just the move but doesn't seem like that needs to be the case here [Music] I need about 40 Ms of oil give me a bucket of oil and
just I'm going to get mine and then I'm going to go one-handed cuz I have a feeling we're going to have a little bit better time one-handed right now just because these balls are a little strong I can see this ball being really good at the plaza though a little more oil that's a Brooklyn [Music] [Applause] [Music]
make me forget can we pretend perfect is something we can told I was going to get mine I'll throw one for you guys later after I uh cook them with the one-handed ball here we go one-handed we have 4 and 1/2 by 4 and 1/2 by 4 and a qu same as our ion Mach I have a pin down so blind focus and a pin up op ID these names are getting so long oh they can haveen stars and
trophies honestly you're all I see you turn my black and white to color you make it beautiful off my hand I thought it was perfect and then I saw it hook in the front and just lock up and then it proceeded to still be okay Nick cu the campfire they're hooking so much in the front we have two options we can throw
it faster or we can create more angle and I am better creating more angle so we're going to do that that's not more angle Darren got you I got nothing the I don't know what for you turn the black and white to
color you made it but we've struck more on the left than we have on the right oh okay you know what let's just talk about the bowling ball and then I'll try to throw some strikes for you guys I think this is the strongest symmetric solid bowling ball we have so at the top we'll have to blind focus and then we have Optimum idle and then we'll have Phase 2 and then we got Sumit ascent and rounding out the bottom which isn't even a symetric ball the ion Pro and just cuz we get their IQ tour in there all the way on the bottom they're hooking a
ton there we go I think [Music] perfect it ain't going away so that's
where it fits but here we go we have Optimum idle much shinier than supp Focus so naturally it's probably going to get down the L A little further also pin up going to rip off the spot harder will this look better than the Focus right now probably if there's more more oil in the front of the lane will the focus look good probably all right same spot ish [Music]
it definitely got down the land a little further but I think that's more because of the surface right now that Ball's been thrown a bunch I practice with that ball a lot naturally it's going to get down the lane a little further and it's going to be a little smoother because the Peaks and valleys in the ball on the surface have been worn down that's going to make the ball rounder right now out of the box Super Fresh those Peaks are really sharp so they're going to dig they're digging in the front they're digging wherever they can find something to dig into let's throw this one more time you guys get a nice little Visual and then we'll move on I'll throw my two strike and we'll throw the summit ascent and that one's actually probably going to look really good right now too
[Music] if we had some Polish and we polished it up this would probably look really good
but we don't it's brand new it's got them teeth and what does teeth do teeth grab what does grab do make ball hook early back to the two-handed one back to right up against the ball return we're going to hook the whole Lane maybe throw it to one I don't know where it's going go go go go go hook [Music] push I'm in if the lane was 45 ft instead of 60
that's 10 in the pit this ball hooks so much when I first saw it at the storm point I went wo that looks like hook in a box lofted if I Loft it it's going to get offline quicker I think I need to throw faster speed power velocity it's same as speed but speed speed speed I'm magic please I'm into magic it does things to be I'm into your
[Music] magic as you guys see it hooked 12 times now we have the summit Ascent which is the same as the optimum idle Blan Shin haven't really hit it with any surface so naturally all Al going to probably look much better because it's shinier this is the weakest ball out of all of them weakest cover it is shiny is Lan shine so it'll look good it'll look good
sorry for all the kids watching don't use gter it will look [Music] better I'm into your magic you cast a spell on me you're all that I think of you're all that I
see if I knew it was out there I'm walking into this place going oh we're bowling at the Gold Coast and I looked at this rack of bowling balls and I had to choose the one that was probably going to look the best it'd be the ascent just cuz it's the weakest still got a pretty strong engine so a ball for the fresh maybe maybe not it's got the weakest cover so it's going to get through the front the best I'll give you guys one more and then I'll try to strike again with the uh Sublime Focus it that one's [Applause]
left so I almost have the whole Lane with that ball cuz that was about two area coats to the left down Lane and I for pined I know this place pretty well but luckily for me team Charles is in Reno at the national bowling Stadium I've been bowling there since I was 10 years old so I've got about 20 years of experience bowling there one more shot with the sublime Focus coming to you worldwide September 2024 same time as the ion Max and I hope yours gets through the front of the lane a little better than [Music] mine have a good night
[Music] hybrid d10 coming to you live PBA season 2027 thanks for watching go watch the rest of the videos this ball hooks a lot bye
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed the 900 Global Sublime Focus to be a surprisingly aggressive ball that defied initial expectations based on its spec sheet. On the Kegel Chromium pattern (42 feet, medium-heavy oil), independent reviewers observed that the ball produced noticeable motion down the lane—described as “dancing”—rather than the smooth, predictable reaction typically associated with balls carrying similar numbers. The Reactive Solid coverstock paired with the symmetric core displayed strong midlane energy and a decisive backend reaction, making it visibly earlier to transition than comparable options like the Phase Two. When tested at various release angles and speeds, the ball showed responsiveness to adjustments; testers found that tightening angles or varying ball speed could effectively control entry angle at the pocket.
The Sublime Focus demonstrated impressive carry through the pins and maintained performance as the pattern broke down over multiple games. Reviewers noted it handled both the initial oil volume and the transition well, staying in a playable zone without requiring dramatic approach adjustments. Surface preparation (1500 grit pads were applied to comparison balls) helped contextualize the Sublime Focus’s aggressive nature. In head-to-head comparisons, it positioned itself firmly between more controlled solid options and skid-oriented equipment—filling a performance gap that testers identified as missing from recent 900 Global releases. The ball’s behavior suggested it will appeal to bowlers seeking earlier midlane read without sacrificing control.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Sublime Focus is ideal for bowlers who regularly encounter medium to medium-heavy oil conditions and need a ball that reads the lanes decisively without excessive skid. Bowlers who prefer symmetric cores and want predictable motion they can shape through speed and angle adjustments will find this ball responsive. It’s particularly well-suited for league bowlers and tournament players who want stronger overall performance than entry-level solids but don’t need the specialized reaction of higher-differential equipment.
This ball also makes sense for those building a varied arsenal who already carry smooth solid or pearl options and need something that creates more midlane separation. At $114.95, it offers strong value for bowlers transitioning from starter equipment or looking to add a reliable workhorse solid that stays in play across multiple oil conditions without requiring constant tweaking.
