900 Global Sublime Review
While no longer in production, the 900 Global Sublime remains a solid option on the used market for bowlers seeking reliable performance on medium-heavy oil. The combination of the Immersed Symmetric A.I. Core and Reserve Blend 802 Hybrid coverstock provides predictable motion with strong backend reaction.
welcome back to the beef and barnesy channel this time with the new Sublime Focus this ball is the same core as the sublime but we have a new cover on it and uh you know as usual I'll just kind of start over here and we'll just throw some shots and see what happens there's some sparkage on the gutter so uh new cover uh obviously it comes solid uh the core numb is going to be the same 24756 uh uh I just drilled a tall 5in
pin basically so 5 by 5 by two I'll move quite a bit left and really where you know so far when I've thrown this ball so that uh where the sublime felt like a big cover that was shiny and sometimes it fought against each other this uh this having a little bit of surface on it feels like it's more in the middle and it's a little more responsive which is a little backwards for a ball with surface on
it versus the ball that's shiny really feels like a pretty strong middle of the bag type of ball we'll throw it up against the ascent for those of you who are new and I have not thrown these up against each other so I don't really know how they're going to compare but here it goes the scent a little longer a little smoother and this is
ball of the cell that's thrown quite a bit ironically it did it kind of as a a little bit of a trick to kind of a RICO thing without a hole in it but it's continued very well I've used it a bunch so uh turns out if it has a thumbhole in it it'll work way better I at easy to pop in and out and quite a bit smoother overall even
though I got that into the oil so Sublime Focus this ball is coming out at uh uh in a few weeks I believe September 20th also uh it is a good-looking ball on the Shelf but we're going to do something a little different if you want to see more of this ball go over to barnesy bowling and barnesy square we're going to have a one-on-one match and uh then you can see what it looks like for both him for me in a full
game we'll move around and uh you'll get your take on it from there so join us on barnesy bowling for the rest of this
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed that the 900 Global Sublime delivers responsive midlane motion with a balanced backend reaction. The reactive hybrid coverstock—featuring a fresh surface compared to the original Sublime—generated noticeably more midlane drive than its predecessor, which reviewers noted felt overly shiny and sometimes fought its own motion. On the test pattern, the ball moved considerably left from the breakpoint and demonstrated strong control through the pins. The textured cover creates a more predictable, middle-of-the-road performance profile that feels appropriately aggressive for its medium-heavy oil classification without being unwieldy for most players.
When compared to other balls in similar heavy oil conditions, the Sublime proved slightly longer and smoother than some competitors, though not excessively so. The symmetric core generates consistent motion on repeated shots, making it reliable for players seeking a workhorse piece that won’t require constant adjustment. The ball’s responsive nature means it won’t require aggressive surface modification to perform well out of the box, though bowlers can fine-tune reaction with light sanding if lane conditions demand more length or earlier angular motion.
Who Is This Ball For?
The 900 Global Sublime is an excellent choice for intermediate to advanced bowlers who regularly face medium-heavy oil patterns and want a dependable mid-range piece that performs predictably without excessive backend motion. Its balanced motion profile makes it particularly valuable for bowlers building out a versatile arsenal—it fills a legitimate gap between lighter oil balls and specialty heavy-oil equipment without overlapping excessively with other pieces in the bag.
This ball will appeal most to house league competitors and tournament bowlers who value consistency and easy handling. The responsive coverstock means less tweaking is required compared to high-gloss alternatives, and the symmetric core design provides the straightforward performance that many bowlers prefer when they want to focus on execution rather than equipment adjustments. If you’re looking for a second or third ball that gives you confident carry and clean motion on fresh or moderately trafficked lane conditions, the Sublime deserves serious consideration.
The Pros
- • Strong pin action and carry
- • Predictable symmetric core motion
- • Effective on medium-heavy oil patterns
