900 Global Zen 25 Review
The 900 Global Zen 25 pairs the RB83 Pearl cover with the Meditate core for aggressive backend reaction on medium-heavy oil. Watch the review.
hi this is Daria and I had an opportunity to Bow the Zen 25 I had a chance also to throw the Zen GPT that was released in Japan so the biggest difference that I see between Zen GPT and Zen 25 is that Zen 25 seems to go a little longer for me and just my personal belief I think it could be the colors a little bit darker uh but also because of the power Edge I feel like the breako is really defined and the ball snaps a lot that's doesn't matter how far left I go it's not going to give
up on me it's not going to lose the energy that I really need once I go left so that helps me with not needing to manipulate my hand so much to create more and more access as I move left and it also helps me to get those extra hits because of the AI [Music] Core what's up folks Steve kemin here and the one thing you'll notice in my zen 25 uh this is a layout that I almost
never use a 6-in pin toap and in the Zen 25 it matches up perfectly for me when I'm trying to play a little bit deeper inside line for me you can see here the ball has absolutely no problem reading the mid lane but watch the continuation on the back end this ball goes through the pins incredibly well [Music]
hey it's Derek here today throwing the New Zen 25 from 900 Global what I really liked about this ball was it picked up pretty well in the mid lane for me compared to a lot of you know some other shiny symmetrics it's something I like to see especially with shiny balls being able to get in pretty deep um this being a 46t pattern ball is still able to pick up quite a bit and make it to the pocket if even if when I missed
[Music] outside the Bold right after Derek got done and the Zen 25 held up its end of the bargain like it should have for my style this isn't a first ball out of the bag kind of ball when I want to step left of the friction and open up my angles I like these single density weight blocks because they get into to a truer role and become less resistant to changing direction for me down Lane I was about three boards further left with my feet compared to where I would have been with the originals
[Music] in hey guys Ken here and as you can see in the video uh we did something a little bit different instead of doing it one-handed I took my thumb out and went two-handed I had the triple four layout from jayton with the Zen 25 uh it kind of reminds me of the original Zen but a little bit more beefed up because of the
meditate AI Core uh I feel like it reads maybe about a tad sooner than the original one but I had more continuation than the original Zen [Music] a [Music]
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed the 900 Global Zen 25 delivers impressive length and a defined backend snap that distinguishes it from its predecessor, the Zen GPT. Independent reviewers observed the ball reads the midlane readily—a notable strength for a shiny symmetric coverstock—while maintaining strong pin carry through the backend. The reactive pearl coverstock allows the ball to track deep into the oil without losing energy, even when players adjust their angles significantly. Multiple test patterns confirmed the Zen 25’s responsiveness: it picked up lane friction predictably without sacrificing the midlane length that makes it versatile across oil conditions.
The power of the Meditate AI core became apparent in how the ball transitions through the lanes. Reviewers noted the backend reaction is “snappy” and decisive—the ball doesn’t surrender energy or over-read the lane when moved further left. This characteristic reduces the need for excessive hand manipulation to create axis rotation, making it a more forgiving option for players seeking consistent ball motion without constantly adjusting their release. The symmetric core’s true roll characteristics mean the ball becomes less directionally resistant as it enters the backend, allowing it to handle different layouts and bowler styles effectively. One tester reported the Zen 25 performed favorably even on medium-heavy oil patterns, making solid hits from a range of entry angles.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Zen 25 is ideally suited for intermediate to advanced bowlers who prefer symmetrical cores and want a reliable midlane-reading ball for medium to medium-heavy oil. Players who appreciate reactive pearl coverstocks without sacrificing length will find the performance window forgiving; this ball works well whether you’re playing deep lines or adjusting angles without constantly tweaking your approach.
This is not a “first ball out of the bag” choice for fresh, heavily oiled backends. Instead, consider the Zen 25 when you’re ready to step left and need a ball that maintains energy and angular response as lanes transition. Bowlers using varied pin-to-PAP layouts will appreciate how effectively different configurations perform with this core—the symmetric design is adaptable for both aggressive and smoother release styles.
The Pros
- • Strong backend reaction with RB83 Pearl coverstock
- • Predictable motion from symmetrical Meditate core
- • Good value on used market since discontinuation
The Cons
- • Limited versatility outside medium-heavy oil conditions
- • May struggle on true heavy oil patterns
