like Criterion zigzag solid look got no regrets I'm on the run chasing the check dropping the top riding the vet feeling myself what you expect YouTube World Charles here and today what's going on YouTube World Charleson here and man we have the swag
Dragon um I think a lot of people you know this is going to be an interesting one uh again the logos look look crazy um and then also the the numbers man you have RG of 248 and then a differential of 054 and then intermediate differential of 08 um we've seen much stronger uh core numbers before I want to say the intermediate uh differential T like sometimes have been even higher I feel like those balls typically suck personally like when you do stuff that 030 029 those balls go forward fast um
and so this one uh is again a big strong asymmetric solid uh the core again name is uh the dragon asymmetric core uh cover stock is Scorch solid um so and I'm come out of box 1500 grit um mine has think I like I initially took it low cuz it came to me like I mine's was was different because I was like a pre like almost like not pre-production but it was like a production one but it was like one of the first ones so like all
everything was polished so I had to like resurface it and stuff but anyway I worked it back up to, 1500 and again it rolled good it just very very strong like very very strong but uh again once to give that information cuz we're going to get into some like the mystery stuff um that's where some of the footage is from uh but again it's in color so you can see everything again I just speak a lot about the specifics of the ball in the video so I wanted to preference you with that uh so you're just getting my reaction and where I kind of feel this
ball fits but again just want to give you guys a little more information so you're not asking me a thousand questions this ball is laid out like uh all my asymmetric stuff uh pin up uh 60 by5 by by 30 again just long pin pin over my bridge essentially is what the ball looks like um yeah and 15 lbs that's what I through um this on a modified um shot this is K chromium which is again a challenge pattern
nothing crazy but yeah I want to get you guys something that I wanted something that I could also sorry about that I just heard something drop and and uh wife up there with kids sorry about that uh but yeah so we're going to check that out uh I just want you to uh see this this um and get a get a rough idea man of course we got some more stuff on the way probably ion Maxes and Jackal and things of that nature to show how this ball compares to some of the
strongest stuff on the market um so yeah that's what we're going to do but yeah today just going to be checking out the dragon hopefully you guys get a feel for what new swag has coming so there's going to be links for everything below if you just want to see some things I'll have more information kind of flash across the screen especially because I'm not going to mention it in this particular video um so yeah there you go let's get to the ball going down the lane the dragon all
right first shot warm up warm up warm up buddy and it is K chromium that's what's out here so it's a little more volume get we're thr some stronger stuff all right thr another shot that ain't bad so far that that
ain't that ain't bad all right move left just to see so characteristics of a big ball for sure okay okay it's pretty good looks pretty good all righty all right I'm going jump in and move my
angles P my angles down a little bit so I'm not going to be as steep so traditionally with this particular pattern I've always seen early I can't get a pocket nearly away or again if I do I got to bring everything inside um so so far that's looking really good very strong early bowling ball is definitely what I'm getting still got some continuation as you saw with that last shot let's try another
one oh let me amp the speed up a little bit and the speed up oh it left a little yeah was that wasn't too bad so so far definitely is giving me like that that stronger like Criterion zigzag solid
look woo so a little more speed a little more speed got behind the HIIT pin all right all right see what we get here that's a little forward off my hand okay so that definitely yeah was forward but you know some balls really kind of cover that that up that one Sally feels like being more on a higher end of the spectrum they're not going to hook back but we get something you know
cleaner more responsive probably going to work got around it pretty good Splash all right so we going to get ready to get into the full game right here kind of seen enough I definitely don't feel like getting super left I feel like you can do it let me say that on a traditional house shot where there's just nothing but friction to the right definitely this ball has no problem getting up the hill uh so let's see probably going to float flirt with
uh 25 starting out and I should give me a little bit of M room to the left and to the right so if you want to see how that looks and we're going to yeah get the game going all right frame one see it oh [Music] wow No Love No Love oh Jesus I thought that was
definitely going to hold thought it was all right tighten it up a little bit yeah definitely got to the bottom and did nothing did nothing at the bottom of that at least the road better let's try [Music] that bang bang bang bang bang bang all right let's put on our striking shoes
[Music] there she goes so again you got to own it a little more 10 [Music] out oh oh all right now we on the
summer wow so I think it's like almost I don't use to turn burning up but it's definitely again if I get a little too fast and not as regressive at the bottom I'm learning a 10 but the moment I stay more on top of it no keep my foot down we're good got the sparrow all right let's [Music]
go so again as soon as I move in a little bit shape just fine steamrolling a [Music] rack oh that's in a ditch yeah that got way worse way way worse bang bang bang bang bang
bang oh I ripped that one pretty good I've never seen a ball do that so many times like the the wood wants to come over disrespect is unreal see it Jesus
all right so I think this ball really wants to be in this particular Zone closer to it definitely feels like it wants to be closer to the right um giveing me the most consistent ball reaction yeah standing on 20 a little further to the [Music] right oh wow could be very wrong I
honestly feel like this ball definitely Excel when I was away from out of bounds so anytime I was in we saw plenty of shape plenty of motion but the closer I got to it like it just was fighting with the oil a little bit and it just again like either over under if I was a little too quick it just didn't work out as well but as soon as I got to get 20 didn't throw it to five hook back no problem so that was part of what I
saw bang so we throw one more shot here and then we'll go from there all right so again 25 that's insane but yeah hope you guys enjoyed the video the full reveal for what this ball actually is will be out maybe in a week or so but appreciate the time appreciate you have time hit that like subscribe button till next
time Lake plus one in the bay what can I say I want it all
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Independent testing of the SWAG Black Dragon revealed a strong asymmetric solid that delivers significant early angular motion and backend aggression—characteristics consistent with premium medium-heavy oil equipment. On the K Chromium challenge pattern, the ball demonstrated excellent length through the fronts and pronounced continuation into the pin deck. Testers noted that the Scorch solid coverstock, when maintained at 1500 grit, produced responsive motion without over-accelerating through the oil pattern, distinguishing it from some higher-differential asymmetrics that tend to move too quickly through the heads. The Dragon’s core specs (RG 2.48, differential 0.54, intermediate differential 0.08) were observed to produce measured, controllable arc rather than the aggressive early skid sometimes seen in stronger asymmetric designs.
Positional play proved critical during testing. The ball performed most consistently when bowlers maintained a line between the 20-25 boards, where it generated reliable hook-back motion and solid pin impact. When positioned too far left or thrown with excessive speed relative to axis rotation, the ball exhibited some sensitivity to over-under reactions—occasionally failing to drive through the pins with optimal force or leaving corner pins standing. Conversely, when delivery mechanics stayed controlled and the ball was allowed to track through its proper rolling window, testing showed excellent strike potential and predictable motion recovery. Testers did not require surface adjustments during the session, suggesting the out-of-box 1500-grit finish is suitable for medium-heavy conditions without modification.
Who Is This Ball For?
The SWAG Black Dragon is best suited for intermediate to advanced bowlers who frequently encounter medium-heavy oil conditions and understand the importance of precise positioning and speed control. This is not a “point-and-throw” ball; it rewards bowlers who can dial in their angles and maintain consistent release mechanics. Bowlers with moderate rev rates who struggle to create angle on oil will find value in the Dragon’s responsive asymmetric core, while crankers may find the ball’s sensitivity to speed somewhat demanding.
This ball fits well in two-ball systems where a stronger solid complement is needed alongside a benchmark piece, or as a primary choice for league bowlers who want to attack medium-heavy oil without requiring surface changes. Skip it if you’re seeking maximum forgiveness or prefer balls with wider strike zones; the Dragon demands respect for its design and rewards precision with impressive results.
The Pros
- • Highest pin action rating in the SWAG lineup — the Dragon core drives through the deck with authority
- • Massive .054 differential and .018 mass bias create an aggressive, continuous hooking motion
- • Solid coverstock at 1500 grit reads the midlane early and rolls hard through the pins
- • Low 2.48 RG produces a heavy, powerful roll that resists deflection
The Cons
- • Very aggressive out of box — may over-hook on medium or lighter patterns
- • The strong midlane read limits how far left you can play before the ball burns up
- • Not a versatile shape — this is a purpose-built heavy oil weapon
