Roto Grip Tour Dynam-X Review
While no longer in production, the Tour Dynam-X remains a solid option on the used market for bowlers seeking a controlled, predictable reaction on medium oil conditions. Its mild asymmetric design and TourTrax Solid coverstock make it an excellent stepping stone ball.
what's happening guys JL Raymond back again coming to you from bowlerx pro shop and training center inside Waterford Lanes in Waterford Michigan where today we're going to take out that new tour Dynamics but have you ordered one of these yet make sure to head over to bowlerx.com get yourself one of these sweet new bowler X jerseys uh they don't have your name on the back or anything but I think we could probably make that happen if you're nice enough to the guys at bowlerx.com they probably can special order one for you but for now if you just want one like just like the one I'm wearing um very comfortable very sweet very cool very Sleek make sure to hit that link in
the description or just head into the Pro Shop over in Bethlehem Pennsylvania at Steel City Bowl but for now we're going to take out that tour Dynamics by Roto Grip I got typical 45 by four and a half by 45 layout on it hoping these are some Bowl balls I'm going to be able to use this weekend for the regional but we're gonna take it out on typical 44 foot lead condition and see what she's got here in a minute so stay tuned they say bowling is a dying sport [Music] a dying sport
[Music] I disagree I disagree I disagree I disagree I disagree olorex.com For the Love of bowling all right ladies and gentlemen here we go the new tour Dynamics by Roto Grip I gotta tell you I've thrown this one a little bit in practice already and I do like this one a lot this one is with that lower diff that 026
I love them low diff phoneballs and it's an a symbol so that's kind of kind of scary to see an asem with that low of a diff this thing gets up and goes though here we go balance balance this place is so slippery I need new Souls slow everything down but that was pretty good you see how sick that rolled it's crazy crazy all right here we go moving on throwing five left
keep in mind I probably already got a little bit of Lane shine on this thing or you know machine shine I guess it'd be called so we're gonna go five I love the way this thing picks up that lower diff allows it to flare smaller flare lines and then it just picks up and gets going the cover's still somewhat strong which is nice to see
so I think this is going to be one of them oh gotta rewrite it's gonna be one of them balls that is going to be like a benchmark you're going to use it on almost everything I can strike from here let's see if I can throw that same shot and strike I don't think so I don't think I can get any deflection oh I got two after Greek Church probably actually
would have Greek church that's a funny thing huh all right here we go now we'll make the move again five more left five more left yeah she picks up making the sound effects for you yeah
I'll wait till you see the Clone the Clone with this thing is crazy the Clone picks up down Lane quite a bit we'll do that one next we'll do that review coming up coming soon ladies and gentlemen coming to a theater near you oh junk on it something there there we go got it here we go five more left this Ball's not reading the front at all but it's certainly reading the middle and the back
it's got a hook I got that one going forward and tilty not bowling on this place in a while tacky or uh slippery approaches I'd rather be bowling on sticky approaches for me I slide too much it makes me go pull right up on it let me try that one again try that one again and get my hand around it a little bit
mouth very very controllable very predictable this is my gonna probably end up being my go-to ball between This and like an Envy tour Envy tours are my go-to ball most times now when of course we're not using urethane which seems to be a lot or it seems to be a lot that we're using urethane when we're not using urethane these will be my go-to's this and nv2 or anything with a tour on it iq2 or NV tour Dynamic tour or tour Dynamics stuff like that
lower diff bone balls and may get along really really nicely there's five more left by the way and I think it's because they're so controllable like you can really make them do what you want them to do you know you're not stuck with okay this is what the ball is this is what it's designed to do and that's all it's going to do and really your hand position only changes how much it does that whereas with this you can make this ball do anything you can make it nice and rolly and smooth and you can make it skid flippy if you want
that's what it's really good about lower differential bowling balls for me all right up against the ball return let's spin it up a little bit yeah that's just nasty to be able to just kind of slow that's my favorite thing to do is to be able to just slow down throw it to the dry and just watch it roll right off of it it's not going to
overreact and jump that's fun to bowl like that and it's because I'm lazy I don't want to have to throw it hard in front of the ball return first shot and we should be good to go oh you're gonna hook oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah yeah no doubt about it hi ma'am
so here we go so that was the Dynamics the tour dynamics that was a uh that is a favorite for sure you're gonna have to order this ball um I was throwing this at turbo the other day I actually drilled these balls over at turbo at their facility because my Center was closed for three weeks for vacation and whatnot and I didn't want to bug them and be like hey let me in you know so um I just went right over right up the street from my house to Turbo drilled some Bowl balls practiced over there and Chris sand was sitting there he's like yep that's one that I'm gonna have to drill I'm gonna have to order that one so uh you're probably going to want to do the same drill this
ball order this ball come up here bowlerx pro shop and training center and get you one when they are released and I'll take care of you I'll get you squared away otherwise hit that link in the description get it delivered to your house and then either take it to Bethlehem get it drilled there or bring it up here and I'll drill it for you we'll get your Pap we'll find all the numbers that we need to find and you'll be good to go and by the way order a shirt order one of these go over to Bethlehem Pennsylvania go over to Steel City Bowl they'll take care of you they got them in shop over there or you can get these online over at bowlerx.com it's gonna be a link in the description for the as well so go get yours but I'm
out of here until next time we'll see you guys later take care
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed the Roto Grip Tour Dynam-X to be a versatile, controllable reactive solid that performs consistently across medium oil conditions. On a typical 44-foot house pattern, the ball demonstrated strong midlane read with a more moderate frontend reaction—a characteristic benefit of its lower 0.026 differential asymmetric core. Independent reviewers observed that the ball picks up smoothly through the backend while maintaining predictability, making it suitable for a variety of shot angles and hand positions. The reactive solid coverstock remained responsive without overreacting to lane variation, allowing bowlers to execute controlled shots near the dry boards without dramatic deflection or jumping pin action.
A notable strength emerged in the ball’s versatility and adjustability. Testing showed the Tour Dynam-X responds well to hand position changes, enabling bowlers to manipulate ball motion from smooth and rolly to more aggressive and flippy depending on release technique. Reviewers found the ball’s lower differential particularly advantageous for bowlers who prefer technical control over raw core motion, making small adjustments in line or speed yield predictable results. The coverstock maintained adequate traction throughout the test session without requiring surface adjustments, suggesting good durability and performance consistency across multiple practice frames.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Roto Grip Tour Dynam-X is ideally suited for bowlers who value controllability and versatility over maximum differential motion. Intermediate to advanced bowlers who already own higher-differential asymmetric cores will find this ball an excellent complement—particularly those who want to match up on medium oil conditions without aggressive angle requirements. The lower differential makes it appealing for bowlers who prefer a more technical, position-dependent approach to lane play, as it rewards precise hand control and adjustment sensitivity.
This ball also works well for bowlers transitioning into reactive solid coverstock equipment or those building a balanced arsenal. Its predictable motion profile makes it a dependable choice for tournament play on house patterns and club conditions where overreacting motion can be a liability. Bowlers who frequently adjust their approach based on lane shine and friction will appreciate the Tour Dynam-X’s willingness to respond to subtle changes in speed and release without demanding extreme angles or aggressive revolutions.
The Pros
- • Excellent control and predictability on medium conditions
- • Clean length through the front part of the lane
- • Versatile option that bridges the gap between urethane and aggressive reactive balls
The Cons
- • Limited hook potential may disappoint power players
- • Low differential reduces versatility across varying oil patterns
Who Is This Ball For?
While no longer in production, the Tour Dynam-X remains a solid option on the used market for bowlers seeking a controlled, predictable reaction on medium oil conditions. Its mild asymmetric design and TourTrax Solid coverstock make it an excellent stepping stone ball.
