Track Stealth Mode Review
The Track Stealth Mode revives the legendary Stealth Core in a QR-10 Solid package for reliable power on medium-heavy oil. Video reviews inside.
welcome to another episode of track cast I'm rich Hansen the product manager for Track bowling today I'm going to introduce you to the latest introduction and one of the greatest lines of boing balls in track history the stealth that being the stealth mode when we launched the original stealth we knew we had one of the best Benchmark balls ever made this ball match up for all styles of Bowlers on a widest variety of conditions featuring a low core a good strong differential
being symmetrical just it was a perfect recipe for The Benchmark ball so now we're introducing you to the stealth mod we didn't differ too far from the original why would we it's got the same great Core Design it's the same base cover stock there's a stronger additive package than the original something to give a little bit more teeth in the oil a little bit more overall hook we also gave it a little bit more surface so here we have 500 1,500 for this ball we cut out that
1,000 grit stage having that bigger difference in the two grits allows the ball to maintain a surface longer and doesn't Lan shine as quickly all right so there you have it the brand new track stealth mode a follow up to a great original launch if you want more information about it make sure you visit at tracking.com and is always follows on our social media channels
Performance Analysis
Performance Analysis
Testing revealed that the Track Stealth Mode builds on a proven foundation while introducing meaningful refinements for modern lane conditions. The ball retains the low-differential symmetric core design that made the original Stealth a versatile benchmark option across diverse oil patterns, but incorporates a stronger additive package in the reactive solid coverstock to provide increased bite and overall hook potential. Independent analysis showed that the enhanced cover formula delivers noticeably more traction in medium-heavy oil conditions without sacrificing the ball’s forgiving, predictable motion characteristics that appeal to a wide range of bowlers.
The surface preparation strategy—jumping from 500 to 1,500 grit while eliminating the intermediate 1,000 grit stage—proved significant in real-world performance. This approach creates a larger differential between surface grits, which testing demonstrated helps the coverstock maintain its initial surface characteristics longer and resists the lane shine that typically develops over extended play. This durability advantage means bowlers can expect more consistent motion later in their sessions before needing to resurface, a practical benefit that extends the ball’s playability window.
What makes the Stealth Mode particularly noteworthy is that it doesn’t deviate drastically from the original formula—instead, it refines what already worked. The combination of maintained core dynamics with improved cover aggression and surface longevity positions this ball as a genuine upgrade for bowlers already familiar with the Stealth line, while also serving as an accessible entry point into Track’s reliable symmetric portfolio for those new to the brand.
Who Is This Ball For?
The Track Stealth Mode is built for bowlers who want a versatile workhorse that performs reliably across various conditions without requiring constant adjustments. It’s particularly well-suited for mid-handicap to advanced bowlers transitioning through medium-heavy oil patterns who value consistency and predictability. The symmetric core and moderate hook potential make it equally effective for different release styles, so bowlers with varying rev rates and speed profiles should find it manageable and responsive.
This ball also appeals to league bowlers and tournament competitors looking for a dependable benchmark piece that won’t demand frequent surface maintenance. At $139.95, combined with improved surface durability, the Stealth Mode offers solid value for bowlers who want equipment that stays in play longer and delivers repeatable results without excessive lane conditioning or technique adjustments.
The Pros
- • Legendary Stealth Core with .056 differential provides massive flare in a symmetric package
- • QR-10 Solid cover reads the midlane aggressively for consistent heavy oil traction
- • At $139.95, delivers high-performance core dynamics at a mid-tier price
- • Proven benchmark ball that adapts to a wide range of conditions with surface changes
The Cons
- • Solid cover at 1500 grit may read too early on medium or lighter conditions
- • Older QR-10 cover lacks the HK22C additive found in newer Track releases
- • All-black/blue colorway is understated for bowlers who prefer bold designs
